In his statement, the 15-time major winner acknowledged the seriousness of his situation and committed to recovery for a stronger return. Court documents detail deputies observing impairment signs after the crash, including lethargic movements, bloodshot eyes and profuse sweating. Authorities found two hydrocodone pills in his pocket; Woods cited distraction from his phone and radio.
This arrest marks Woods' second DUI in a decade, following a 2017 incident involving prescription drugs. He sustained serious leg injuries in a 2021 rollover crash and recently returned to The Golf League after back and Achilles surgeries. Woods will skip the Masters; Augusta National Chairman Fred Ridley confirmed his absence.
